Welcome to the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Area XI Online Registration Page For the Sectional Championship Tournament Series. Please Read the following instructions then press the button at the bottom to register.

ELIGIBILITY: Only full-time residents of Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery,  Northampton, and Philadelphia Counties as well as Berks County residents who reside within the boundaries of the Upper Perkiomen School District or Boyertown School District may enter the Area XI the Sectional Tournaments. Sections are open so wrestlers can enter any sectional tournament but may only enter one.  

AWARDS: Awards for the top three finishers in each weight class.

SECTIONAL FORMAT: Double elimination (no true second).

AREA XI CHAMPIONSHIPS: The top three place winners* in the Sectional Qualifiers advance to the PJW Area XI Championships at LaSalle College High School March  19th and  20th 2011. No Advancement fee but qualified wrestlers will need to fill out the advancement form and sign the participation waiver. Area XI Championship to be seeded by formula from results of sectional qualifiers. (Future Champion Brackets do not advance)

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS: The top two place winners in the Area 11 Championship (all weights in 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14) advance to the State Championships at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. March 25th and  26th, 2011.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. A wrestler's age group classification is determined by his/her age on December 31, 2010.

EXAMPLE: A wrestler’s 11th birthday is 1/1/2011. That wrestler competes in the 9-10 division.

  1. Participants may enter one sectional tournament, one weight class and one division only. 6& Under may compete in either 6&Under or 8&Under but not both. No Double Bracketing.
  2. There is no weight allowance at the Sectional or Area XI Championship.
  3. A wrestler cannot wrestle outside his/her age group, unless he/she weighs more than the heaviest weight class in his/her age group.
  4. National Federation and PIAA rules will govern all matches except as follows:
    • All bouts in the championship bracket will consist of three periods of 2 - 1 – 1.
    • All Consolation matches will consist of three periods of 1-1-1.
    • Overtime to be 1- 30-30-30 (choice for ultimate RO first point scored)

  1. PLEASE NOTE THAT HEADGEAR IS REQUIRED IN ALL PJW TOURNAMENTS
  2. AGE CHALLENGE RULE - Challenger and Challenged must provide proof of age. Bring your Birth certificate with you.) Birth certificates or copies of birth certificates will be required of all finalists at the Area XI Tournament and for all wrestlers competing in the PJW State Championship Tournament.
  3. The hair rule for the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling tournaments will be enforced.
  4. Only fulltime residents of Pennsylvania may enter the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling tournaments.
  5. Counties eligible in Area XI are: BUCKS, CARBON, CHESTER, DELAWARE, LEHIGH, MONROE, MONTGOMERY NORTHAMPTON & PHILADELPHIA. Berks County residents of the Upper Perkiomen and Boyertown School Districts may also enter the Area 11 Tournament. Competitors deemed to be ineligible after registration shall be removed without refund.
